You can upgrade non + versions to + versions through Soul Matching, but only within the same set, i.e. To unlock the 7PC+ bonus of A Multitude of Hopes, you need 7 pieces (6 with Set Bonus Requirements Reduced -1) in its + version. In order to unlock that bonus, you need the required number of pieces in its + version not just one.
